What a night!

Well, I know its safe to go to work tommorrow - Spitfires Won 2-1 over Kelowna tonight! Now as I type - The Wings are tied 2-2 with Obama's team..... they better kick ass tonight. Or a couple of certain co-workers will make my life a living hell at work. Moping......etc...and lets not forgot about DH - Oh Boy! He goes crazy over Detroit Play Off Hockey. Its Insane!

So I managed to watch the AI Finals Tonight. I totally think Adam rocked over Kris. This post has a great read on the show if you missed it. Never mind that it's titled 03/19/09 - its a big fat typo. BTW Kara's song SUCKED. Just felt the need to get that out there! Kris looked like he was in shock all night for being up on stage as one of the finals. Too bad it wasn't Danny!!

(((From all the shouting going on in my living room - I believe The Red Wings just scored! Go Wings!)

Back to AI:

adam lambert

adam_lambert_ai8

And yes I voted! The little recording told me, "Thank you for voting for Contestant One!" Thank you very much. I do walk the talk ya know:)

Other News:

What a day! I have officially lost my glasses. They are somewhere in this house. Very Scary. DH & I have checked everywhere - and no luck. Even the custom officer searching my truck this morning didn't see them. Darn!! lol
After work We bought ten, I repeat TEN tennis balls for the pups. They were in heaven! It was like watching the Easter egg hunt for dogs. Max had 7 in his pile, poor Maggie only had 3. But at least she brings the ball back for you to throw it again *giggles*

I've been officially informed that the Wings Won! Whoohoo!!

It's getting late - I think I'm overtired with all this rambling here,,,,rofl.

Good Night!

Vote for Adam!

Savvy N Sassy Design Team Call

Savvy N Sassy will be looking for FIVE energetic and creative designers who love ribbon to join our design team!
If you are interested in receiving a new and exciting ribbon card in the mail each month filled with beautiful designs and colors then this call is for you!

As a design team member, we are seeking individuals who are interested in bonding with the team as a whole, have time to post and upload layouts to share and inspire with everyone on a regular basis. All applicants must be active in the forum/gallery in that they are familiar with our members and the overall environment of SnS.

Responsibilities

-Each month you will receive our Ribbon Kit of the Month in the mail. In turn, DT members are expected to post 3 projects with their kits. One project is 1 layout OR 4 cards OR 1 altered item. DT members are encouraged to do more than one type. For example: 2 layouts and 4 cards. These items created are not sole property of Savvy n Sassy. You will be able to post them in other online galleries, blogs, submissions etc. The only stipulation we ask is that you just add in the "ribbon provided by Savvy n Sassy" phrase when sharing your layouts. These projects are due no later than the 25th of each month and must be loaded onto the Savvy'n'Sassy blog by that date as well.

--A minimum of 25 posts a week on the message board. We encourage you to post more than that.

--Start new topics on the message board (5 - 6 are required/week)

--Post comments in the gallery, look at the projects and praise them.

--Post monthly challenges

--As DT members, we encourage you to do a minimum of at least one of the challenges posted each month other than your own.

--DT members will also be responsible for 1 or 2 "How to" entries on the Savvy n Sassy Blog, and participation in our online crop (we have one crop per 6 month term).

--Help with online crops (challenges, games, etc.)

--Post your Savvy'n'Sassy projects, contests and news on your personal blog.

Compensation

--A ribbon kit every month to design with.

--Design Team members will receive a discount on stock in store and free shipping on purchases with each months kit. (as long as they are lettermail, larger items will be charged extra)

Submission requirements

If you are interested and believe you would be a fit for our team then please submit the following:
-- User name in SNS forums
-- three projects or layouts showcasing your use of ribbon (created in the last 3 months)
-- small bio about yourself including email and snail mail address
-- list of any other design teams you are on
-- please acknowledge how much time you are comfortable with to devote to Savvy n Sassy each month
-- Link to your Blog
-- Link to your online Gallery
--Why would you like to be a Desiger for Savvy n Sassy?

Stuffed Animal Surgery & Art Freckles:

Daffy - along with a few others - had "surgery" again to repair Max Damage. We put them on top of the fridge as they are damaged - and I was beginning to realize that the top of the fridge was full! LOL So Yesterday I managed to stay awake long enough to do "surgery" on Max's Friends...... The poor guy takes this seriously, hangs out with me until they are all done and in a pile by him....then he will play. I think Daffy's just about had it......Penguin is a close second. He's lost both arms and legs - but I added a squeaker to him to make him a little more interesting. He'd be in the photo to - but Max stole him off the couch before I could take the picture! lol

On another note:

The Art Freckles October Kit is here!! Check it out HERE! Don't forget to check out Week 3 Giveaway on the Art Freckles Blog too!

ZZ March Caliope Reverie Kit

I played today!! Yeah!! I got to dig into the ZZ March Caliope Reverie Kit at SNS! Such Fun!

I used the Black Double Loop Braid - #0370 from the kit, and followed Martina's Fabric Challenge. I would not of thought this was my style; but I guess it was today! I rather like it! Its of Max & Mike back in February 2006, when Max was around 8 weeks old.

Wanna be a Guest Design Team Member over at SavvynSassy.com?

Here's How:

Katie has a great Challenge over at SNS this month!

March GDT Scraplift Challenge

Let someone else do the heavy lifting this month! My challenge is really simple. Just choose a layout made by any member of the design team and lift it! You can do a direct lift, use it as a sketch, or just be inspired by something in the layout. As long as it is obvious how the layout inspired something in yours. Then, post your layout in the gallery and post BOTH your layout and the layout you lifted back to this thread.

1. You may enter the contest each month unless you have won the month prior.

2. Your layout must meet the contest rules and guidelines to be eligible.

3. Your layout has to be newly created specifically for this contest.

4. You may share your layout on other websites.

5. You must be a registered member with the forum and have a minimum of 10 posts to enter the contest.

6. If you do not meet all the requirements of the contest rules your layout will be disqualified so please pay close attention to the guidelines and rules.

7. Contest runs each month from the 1st to 28th, so you have to upload your creations by midnight MST on 28th each month to be eligible to win.

8. If you win the contest you will be a guest DT member for the next month, and SNS will send you one of the ribbons kits to create 3 projects with.

All Done - Challenge SEVEN at SavvynSassy.com

Welcome to Challenge SEVEN of our contest............

Here is your Seventh assignment...

1. Create a 12 x 6 layout (12 wide x 6 high -- landscape orientation)
2. Creatively use at least 3 DIFFERENT ribbons on your layout
3. Choose ONE of the following color combinations and create your page using it -- Pink & Black (like SNS) OR Blue & Black
4. Answer the questions below
5. This may be a new size for you -- but we want to see your style as in any project you would do
6. Upload in the gallery before Deadline and post your picture in this thread!

QUESTIONS

1. Have you enjoyed blogging through this contest? Is it something you are comfortable with and will be doing regularly?

2. How have you enjoyed this contest in general -- blogging, following instructions, being challenged, meeting a deadline?

3. Do you enjoy scrapping a variety of items, a variety of colors, out of your style? Or do you have a sort of safety zone you like to stay within?

4. Do you enjoy trying new techniques? Showing them to others?

5. Do you enjoy being on the SavvynSassy forums and interacting with the members?

6. We really don't like to incorporate a bunch of rules, but one thing we do with DT Members is put out a schedule with duties. Are you confident you can remember duties as they change month to month and get stuff done, etc.?

7. Although being a DT Member is certainly about having fun and being creative, we feel a DT Member should also be able to help promote the site - do you feel you would be a asset in regards to promoting SNS - if so how?

8. We feel a DT Member should be able to help our other Members (and new ones) around the forum and the site - do you feel you would be an asset to helping SNS members and are confident in knowing your way around the forums threads etc?

9. We like to be chatty. :D Do you like starting new threads, whether they are just chatting, or scrappy stuff?

Wow. This was a great contest. It really challenged me in new ways. This challenge was interesting to me. I really wanted to do the Blue and Black combo SO BAD..... but in order to challenge myself further - I went with PINK and BLACK. OMG you read that right. The "Pink Nazi" used PINK. ROFL

1. Create a Blog "How To" ribbon Technique - (anything you Like - altered or Layout) be sure to include extra images showing the process and the instructions. DETAILS DETAILS DETAILS....
2. use at least 2 DIFFERENT ribbons on your creation
3. Blog your "How To" be sure to include the extra images and all instructions Links etc etc - and link us to your blog entry in this thread.
4. Upload in the gallery before Deadline and post your picture/ instructions in this thread!

EXAMPLES OF A SNS BLOG "HOW TO" are under Categories on the SNS BLOG

**Categories being judged this round:

Creative Ribbon Technique
Blog Entry "How to" (Instructions, Extra Images, Links, Products, etc)
Creativity
Overall appearance & design
Picture of Project (cropped, re-sized, GOOD background etc)

OK So Here We Go.......

The ribbon Technique I chose to do - was "Die Cutting with Ribbon"

I Gathered Up Some Supplies:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Bermuda Cool - #0186 from the SnS July Sassy Kit

Brown - Miami Blue - Lime Stitch - #0188 from the SnS July Sassy Kit

Miami Blue - Lime Stitch - #0187 from the SnS July Sassy Kit

Brown - White - Turq - Blue - Aqua Jacquard - #0189 from the SnS July Sassy Kit

My Xyron 150, some chipboard, (I cut out a piece of a beer box so it was not to thick, you could use whatever you have in your recycle box), my Ribbon Iron, My Sizzix and a Sizzix Die.

First Things First:

Use the Ribbon Iron to Iron Your Ribbon.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I cut my chipboard to 3 x 8 inches, the size I wanted to use on my LO.

(The sky's the limit)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Cut Ribbons to the size of Your Chipboard.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Use the Xyron 150, or your own adhesive, to make the ribbon sticky.

Now Place the ribbons however you would like in order to cover the chipboard completely.

I choose to do straight lines to cover up my chipboard.

Trim The Ribbon:

If your Ribbon is Fraying - Use CLEAR Nail Polish to stop it.

All Trimmed Up:

Now take your Die and position it on the chipboard.

I'm using this for a 2 page LO, so I marked where I wanted to cut,
so that it would be evenly spaced.

Use your die cutting machine, and cut it out!!

All Done! You now have a Die Cut Ribbon Shape that can be used for your LO.

I choose to use both the positive, and negative sides of my chipboard, on my Two page LO.

On "Snow Nose"

I filled the negative Space with Liquid Pearls - Platinum Pearl.
