What has been keeping me busy - the whole month of July.....

Well...... after taking care of Lucy, Then Mike, Then Myself......I did not clean up my scrap room in a very, VERY long time. After I started feeling better, I had the itch to clean. Who knew a sinus infection would last a month? Joanne's had a wicked Fourth of July sale, and I bought two organizers at a wicked price. (Way better than the sale price this week! Woohoo!) This is what started the ball rolling. So the following photos may offend you neat freaks out there - but I decided I could show them now that my room actually clean, been scrapped in, and STILL clean!!

These photos were taken about 10 days or so into the organization. Day One was like a Bomb went off in my Room - and I refused to take photos... I cleaned up my room a little bit after work everyday, and spent many free hours on weekends on it. Mike has not seen much of me lately - teehee.

BEFORE PICTURES:

Looking into the room and looking out to the door - while organizing my embellishments...

Around the second weekend in I had a Brain Fart of bringing my Mom's old Buffet into the room, and removing one of my two scrap tables. I found that I was piling stuff on one table anyway, so it was not a big deal to remove it for prettier storage. It also got it out of the kitchen - Yeah!!

Here's the "Crap" Table - lol

And yes - There is a TV somewhere........

And Max hamming it up for the camera...... and getting giddy with excitement to possibly see the floor again....

OK so are you ready??????

I now I am now typing to you from a stress free and CLEAN desk - OMG......... In a CLEAN room...... that I can see the carpet........and that Max is currently sleeping on my foot, even though he has TONS of room to stretch!!

Are you ready!! (Can you tell I'm super excited!!)

Here is the view from the door:

See that Chair Mat? That cost me a huge bruise on my foot and two sliced up fingers last Sunday. Staples has the most unsafe display I've ever seen, and no one helped me till I got to the register. Here's a hint - never ask a Staples Cashier for a band aid - they do not keep them under the desk - and they need to call a manager to come all the way up front - just to go all the way back again for a band-aid. I do not feel bad I bled all over the store and counter after that.

Below is to the right of the door. My Mom's old Buffet is there, along with Max's Toy Box. All of his toys end up in here anyway, so its easier to have the box in here too.

Front View of the Buffet - It houses my Homemade clip it up, my jar of buttons, my 12 x 12 album, a Max Photo, a framed 6 x 12 LO and my card holder.

The top drawer has all my small containers of stuff I sometimes use, as well as all my future altering projects. The Bottom Right Drawer houses my tools I use on every LO, The middle drawer houses all of my fabric and sewing projects, and the drawer on the left houses all of my glues. Underneath the buffet - the clear container with the black lid - it all of my Cardstock - 8 X 11 & 12 x 12 - separated by colour. I also have vellum in there too.  I had absolutely no idea I had that much cardstock! All my die cuts and future RAKS are housed in the old Black Suitcase, and my sewing basket is on top of that.

This rack that houses my paints, inks, well really anything messy - I found at the Relay for Life Yard Sale. Someone donated it, so I bought it, I thought it was perfect for what I needed! It is sitting on my first organizer. The Drawers are sorted Rub on & Bling, Chip Board & Ghost Crap, Letters (non - chipboard), and lastly, Dog & Cat Embellishments.

This is my sewing machine and wishblade table, nice and safe in the corner. Easy to move the sewing machine to the table when I need it, or when I'm using the wishblade. The sewing machine is all ready to go with my new favorite thread - invisible thread! I love it!

This is my actual scrapping table. I have a beautiful view out my window of lavender & purple coneflowers right now. My old kitchen stuff (forgot the official name tonight - sorry) has found a new home housing all my pens, knifes, scissors, brushes, bone folders, well anything really that fits in it. lol Some new favorite stamps, and scrap paper for doodling (I'm a doodler), my Big Bite, My Ott Lamp, and a small container to house my small items (brads and stuff) that I want to use on whatever I'm working on. This is so much neater than the before! Underneath the table, I have plastic containers sorted by - photos, envelopes, scrap paper, card kits & blank cards, metal & felt fusion & ribbon slides & paper frills & small embellies (this is one container), and extra of my ribbon container - filled with lace & holiday ribbon, my tackle box - contains eyelets sorted by colour, brads sorted by colour, and chipboard letters - sorted by letter. I have a container of punches, and last but not least is my recently sorted and thinned out sticker collection. Yes I still have room for my feet! Its really deep under there!

To the left of my table is my ribbon storage. I went to Big Lots and got a wicked deal on two more as I had outgrown the two I have, and I now have room to grow. Ribbon is sorted by Savvy N Sassy Ribbon, then black/white/brown & one for multi coloured non SNS Ribbon.

Here's my Scanner and Printer....

My Desk that I type to you all from....

The Top of my desk...

Here are the containers that started it all, the black one underneath the window.  Each Container is labeled as follows - Flowers, Flowers other, Templates & Texture Plates, Fancy Pants, Cosmo Cricket, Basic Grey, Baby Crap, Fall-Halloween-skull stuff, card embellies - friend, family & love crap, MM embellies, & Summer-travel-beach. I may have an unconventional labeling style, but it makes sense in my head, honest. My Scissors are housed on top for now. My Paper Racks are sorted by manufacturer - then the bottom ones houses browns, blues, reds, blacks, yellow, orange, the dreaded PINK and themed (think Army, Batman Garfield) patterned papers.

Ahhh ha! I do have a TV!!!And its freshly dusted and you can see the top of it!

Can you see how happy Max is now!!

Here is where I have one of my "Lucy Shrines" as I call them.  I just look to the left while typing and there she is. Some favorite photos of her, her two favorite stuffies, and her collar.

Thanks for taking a peek into my scrap space!! Now if I can only get the rest of the house to look this good!!

Messing around with Inkscape Again:

Someone asked on the CRFun Yahoo Group to help her with a file.

It intrigued me to try to help her. My first try was interesting, but it does include the Eyes & Mouth. I'll include the link to download - but you will want to clean it up a bit. It cuts very delicately, and I doubt I would make it smaller....lol HERE is the link to the GSD.

My Second try I like better - its more simplified and no eyes and mouth!! lol I can see me actually using this one! HERE Is the link for that. If fact I would recommend this file before the first one.

Feel free to share the link to the file, and if you use it, link it to the comments - I'd love to see your work!

Enjoy!

How I feel today...

Spread the Stupidity

Only in America ....do people order
double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a diet coke.

Only in America ......do banks leave both doors open and then chain the pens to the counters.

Only in America ......do we leave cars
worth thousands of dollars in the
driveway and put our useless junk in the garage.

Only in America ......do we buy hot dogs in packages of ten and buns in packages of eight.

Only in America ....do we use the word 'politics' to describe the process so well: 'Poli' in Latin meaning 'many' and 'tics' meaning 'bloodsucking creatures'.

Only in America ....do they have drive-up ATM machines with Braille lettering.

EVER WONDER ....

Why women can't put on mascara
with their mouth closed?

Why don't you ever see the headline "Psychic Wins Lottery"?

Why is "abbreviated" such a long word?

Why is it that doctors call what they do "practice"?

Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?

Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?

Why isn't there mouse-flavored cat food?

Why didn't Noah swat those two mosquitoes?

Why do they sterilize the needle for lethal injections?

You know that indestructible black box that is used on airplanes? Why don't they make the whole plane out of that stuff?!

Why don't sheep shrink when it rains?

Why are they called apartments when
they are all stuck together?

If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of progress?

If flying is so safe,
why do they call the airport the terminal?

July 2nd

1993 was an interesting day for me:( It was my first experience with the death of a close family member, and in the end the way I dealt with it was, well like an eighteen year old. Love you Nana!

I found an old photo of me & my grandparents - circa 1975 or so:)
