Crazy Times at our House:)
Timmy came over yesterday; had a little boo-boo with his pretty jeep on the way home. Mike drove me to pick him up, then we dealt with police issues (can you BELIEVE they wanted us to stay with the jeep; when all we saw were people slipping and sliding all over the freeway??? We got the hell outta there! Channel 7 news was even filming there) So it was a late, late night, with the tow truck arriving around 1AM or so. Poor Timmy.......He is fine; but his jeep is not :(

All Done - Challenge SEVEN at SavvynSassy.com
Welcome to Challenge SEVEN of our contest............
Here is your Seventh assignment...
1. Create a 12 x 6 layout (12 wide x 6 high -- landscape orientation)
2. Creatively use at least 3 DIFFERENT ribbons on your layout
3. Choose ONE of the following color combinations and create your page using it -- Pink & Black (like SNS) OR Blue & Black
4. Answer the questions below
5. This may be a new size for you -- but we want to see your style as in any project you would do
6. Upload in the gallery before Deadline and post your picture in this thread!
QUESTIONS
1. Have you enjoyed blogging through this contest? Is it something you are comfortable with and will be doing regularly?
2. How have you enjoyed this contest in general -- blogging, following instructions, being challenged, meeting a deadline?
3. Do you enjoy scrapping a variety of items, a variety of colors, out of your style? Or do you have a sort of safety zone you like to stay within?
4. Do you enjoy trying new techniques? Showing them to others?
5. Do you enjoy being on the SavvynSassy forums and interacting with the members?
6. We really don't like to incorporate a bunch of rules, but one thing we do with DT Members is put out a schedule with duties. Are you confident you can remember duties as they change month to month and get stuff done, etc.?
7. Although being a DT Member is certainly about having fun and being creative, we feel a DT Member should also be able to help promote the site - do you feel you would be a asset in regards to promoting SNS - if so how?
8. We feel a DT Member should be able to help our other Members (and new ones) around the forum and the site - do you feel you would be an asset to helping SNS members and are confident in knowing your way around the forums threads etc?
9. We like to be chatty. :D Do you like starting new threads, whether they are just chatting, or scrappy stuff?
Wow. This was a great contest. It really challenged me in new ways. This challenge was interesting to me. I really wanted to do the Blue and Black combo SO BAD..... but in order to challenge myself further - I went with PINK and BLACK. OMG you read that right. The "Pink Nazi" used PINK. ROFL
Can you believe it? I'm still in Shock!!!
So I'm waiting to see how the contest ends....I'm so excited!!!

Can you spare some......
I received an email from Lucy's old School Today. I thought I'd pass on the news:
"Instead of a tip this week we want to give you the opportunity to
play Santa for some dogs this Christmas.
Bring in a donation of food, toys, blankets, etc. to Trainers
Academy, LLC on December 19th, 20th, and 21st. Trainers Academy will
then donate these items to a shelter in need.
You can drop of send items off to either of our locations:
1016 Troy Ct., Troy, Michigan 48083
24345 Halsted Rd., Farmington Hills, Michigan 48335
In honor of all the dogs without a home this Christmas, we would
like to share the following poem, which moved us to tears:"
A Rescue Dog's Christmas Poem
Tis the night before Christmas and all through the town,
every shelter is full - we are lost, but not found,
Our numbers are hung on our kennels so bare,
we hope every minute that someone will care,
They'll come to adopt us and give us the call,
"Come here, Max and Sparkie - come fetch your new ball!!
But now we sit here and think of the days...
we were treated so fondly - we had cute, baby ways,
Once we were little, then we grew and we grew
now we're no longer young and we're no longer new.
So out the back door we were thrown like the trash,
they reacted so quickly - why were they so rash?
We "jump on the children:, "don't come when they call",
we "bark when they leave us", climb over the wall.
We should have been neutered, we should have been spayed,
now we suffer the consequence of the errors THEY made.
If only they'd trained us, if only we knew...
we'd have done what they asked us and worshiped them, too.
We were left in the backyard, or worse -let to roam-
now we're tired and lonely and out of a home.
They dropped us off here and they kissed us good-bye...
"Maybe someone else will give you a try."
So now here we are, all confused and alone...
in a shelter with others who long for a home.
The kind workers come through with a meal and a pat,
with so many to care for, they can't stay to chat.
They move to the next kennel, giving each of us cheer...
we know that they wonder how long we'll be here.
We lay down to sleep and sweet dreams fill our heads...
of a home filled with love and our own cozy beds.
Then we wake to see sad eyes, brimming with tears -
our friends filled with emptiness, worry, and fear.
If you can't adopt us and there's no room at the Inn -
could you help with the bills and fill our food bin?
We count on your kindness each day of the year -
can you give more than hope to everyone here?
Please make a donation to pay for the heat...
and help get us something special to eat.
The shelter that cares for us wants us to live,
and more of us will, if more people will give.

You know you  your greyhound....
when you purposely shovel a path over 100 feet of YOUR BACKYARD...... just so that she can get to her "potty spot" safely......
I'm insane..... its true.... but tonight, thats what I did......... My poor back.... All so little-miss-hop-a-long can do Number 2.
She's still favoring her back right leg, she does use it once in a while, but the snow was just too high for her. She was SOOOOOOO Happy when I took her out, (after I shoveled the path) that I could tell she was saying Thank You!!

OK So Here We Go.......
The ribbon Technique I chose to do - was "Die Cutting with Ribbon"
I Gathered Up Some Supplies:
Bermuda Cool - #0186 from the SnS July Sassy Kit
Brown - Miami Blue - Lime Stitch - #0188 from the SnS July Sassy Kit
Miami Blue - Lime Stitch - #0187 from the SnS July Sassy Kit
Brown - White - Turq - Blue - Aqua Jacquard - #0189 from the SnS July Sassy Kit
My Xyron 150, some chipboard, (I cut out a piece of a beer box so it was not to thick, you could use whatever you have in your recycle box), my Ribbon Iron, My Sizzix and a Sizzix Die.
First Things First:
Use the Ribbon Iron to Iron Your Ribbon.
I cut my chipboard to 3 x 8 inches, the size I wanted to use on my LO.
(The sky's the limit)
Cut Ribbons to the size of Your Chipboard.
Use the Xyron 150, or your own adhesive, to make the ribbon sticky.
Now Place the ribbons however you would like in order to cover the chipboard completely.
I choose to do straight lines to cover up my chipboard.
Trim The Ribbon:
If your Ribbon is Fraying - Use CLEAR Nail Polish to stop it.
All Trimmed Up:
Now take your Die and position it on the chipboard.
I'm using this for a 2 page LO, so I marked where I wanted to cut,
so that it would be evenly spaced.
Use your die cutting machine, and cut it out!!
All Done! You now have a Die Cut Ribbon Shape that can be used for your LO.
I choose to use both the positive, and negative sides of my chipboard, on my Two page LO.
On "Snow Nose"
I filled the negative Space with Liquid Pearls - Platinum Pearl.
On "Winter Fun":
I used Stickles - Frosted Lace on the Title, and Sapphire Grosgrain & Aqua Sequins from the ZZ December #2 - Explore Kit

Questions & Answers
-- We would like to get to know you better (small bio about yourself)
My name’s Renée and I am a scrapbook addict……. Seriously though, I live in Clawson, MI, USA with my loves, Mike, Lucy, Max, C.C. and Sissy. Mike and I are the only {Real} Humans in my household. (Please don’t tell the others). I started card making years ago, and progressed to scrapbooking in 2004? I think? Seems like I’ve always had paper and glue around….
Monday through Friday, finds me in Windsor, ON, Canada at my job as a Retail Clerk for a Large Canadian Courier Company. With Christmas around the corner, I’m so busy that I have to tell myself that I NEED to go to work to buy more Scrapping stuff, (and pay off the greyhound’s Credit card...lol), and that gets me through the busy season at work. (Some mornings I just don’t want to go!) I’ve been commuting for over two years; I won’t say it is a joy to do, but I’m thinking it shows how much I do love my job, just not at Christmas!
-- Are you on any other design teams? Numbers only please...
I’m not on any Design Teams at the moment, unless you include this month as a Guest DT.
-- Please acknowledge how much time you are comfortable with to devote to Savvy n Sassy each month in the forums and gallery.
I’m very comfortable here! In fact its part of my Daily routine! I’d say I’d spend a minimum of 15 minutes a day here at SNS, more on the weekends.
--Why would you like to be a Designer for Savvy n Sassy?
I think it’d be cool to be a Designer here. Ribbons Rock! I also think it will help me to be creative in a craft that I love, and if I’m able to, I love to inspire and share what I know. Everyone here at SNS is like family, only better because I get to call you all my friends.
